These activities are intended to be used as Brain Breaks for the students, allowing them to move their body, refocus their attention and generate more BDNF to assist in learning. Many can be done in small confined spaces, like next to desks. Others can be used for grouping the students as you transition from one activity to the next.

I encourage you to create some of your own breaks, try them out with your students; if they work send them to me and I’ll post them up here for everyone to use!

Go Noodle is a free online site that has great movement activities for the classroom.  You can create an account and then keep track of your class’ workouts and brain breaks.  There is also a subscription plan that you can join with more movement activities.
